Frequently asked questions

Where are you located?

At Expressive Minds Speech Pathology, we are a mobile service, meaning we come to you! We are based in Brisbane, QLD, and travel within a 30km radius to provide speech therapy in the comfort of your home, school, or community setting.

Of course! We just ask that you provide a suitable space for the session—one that is spacious enough and as free from distractions as possible.

Yes! We offer telehealth appointments, which are a flexible and convenient option for those living in rural or remote areas or anyone who finds online sessions better suited to their schedule.

A telehealth appointment is simply an online session conducted via video call. Nearly everything we do in face-to-face sessions can also be done online, including assessments and parent consultations, across various age groups. Research continues to show that teletherapy is just as effective as in-person therapy. All you need is a stable internet connection and a device—ideally a laptop or desktop.

In your first appointment, we’ll discuss your goals for speech therapy, your child’s challenges, strengths, and interests, and review their case history. We’ll also conduct an assessment to understand their abilities while building rapport. Finally, we’ll collaborate on setting goals and developing a tailored plan to best support your child moving forward.

If you’d like more information or have any questions, just leave your name and number, and we’ll give you a call to chat.

NDIS Clients

  • Therapy and assessment sessions (including telehealth) are $193.99 per 60 minutes.

Non-NDIS Clients

  • Therapy sessions are $193.99 per 60 minutes.
  • We adjust fees for non-NDIS clients to help make speech therapy more accessible for families without government funding.

Travel Fees

As a mobile service, a flat-rate travel fee applies per session. Travel costs will be discussed before your first appointment.

At Expressive Minds Speech Pathology, we are registered Medicare providers. Some children may be eligible for a Medicare rebate through the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan, which is arranged by your child’s GP or Paediatrician. This plan provides partial rebates (around $40 per session) for up to five sessions per calendar year. Full payment is required upfront, and you can claim your rebate through your Medicare portal using your receipt.
